most durable of woods, the popular choice is either redwood, cedar or mahogany.
But, since the proven history of high density urethane (HDU) I no longer use
wood for my signs. When professionally handcrafted, the HDU looks and feels
exactly like real wood. It was a hard transition for me to make to start using
the urethane products for signs because I am a purest and professional
Woodwright by trade. But, after years of fighting the inherent problem
characteristics of wood, I finally gave in to the HDU. I am now very comfortable
using this urethane composite material and have become very proficient in using
it in just about all my sign projects. The handcrafted sign now will be one
solid piece with no joints or laminated boards. The one piece panels can be as
thick as needed for the required job. After being cut to the required shape, the
blank is sanded and primed with 2 coats of primer and two coats of very high
quality finish paint. The shape and size is limited only to your imagination and
area of mounting. There is no limit as to what shape your sign can be. Upon
viewing your artwork and notes, it usually takes about 3-6 weeks to complete a
custom project. Complex shapes, graphics, gold leaf or special finishes may take
a little longer than normal. Full payment is required in advance of starting
production with the shipping amount billed at the time your sign is actually
boxed and ready to ship.
We can completely design your sign from scratch, but, there may be a design fee for this service and a "sketch fee deposit" may be required for complex shapes, designs or graphics. With todays speedy communications, it only takes minutes to firm up a job, get final approval, payment taken care of and production started.
